Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) solutions integrates photovoltaic elements into buildings on facade such as PV glass windows, PV glass skylights, exterior wall, roof canopies etc. BIPV are photovoltaic building materials which can be used to replace conventional building materials in parts of the building envelope. This technology is increasingly being incorporated into the construction of new buildings as a principal or ancillary source of electrical power. The initial cost can be offset by reducing the amount spent on building materials and labour that would traditionally be used to construct the part of the building that the BIPV modules replace. BIPV allows for a widespread solar adoption when the building’s aesthetics matter and traditional rack-mounted solar panels would disrupt the intended look of the building.  It can offer visual and aesthetic design to the buildings or structures.
